January 29, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at SFMTA, Union Square Conference Room, 7th Floor, 1 S. Van Ness Avenue.
The SFMTA is currently in the design process for the Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit Project, scheduled to begin construction at the end of 2015. While the main goals of the project are to create more efficient and reliable transit service while improving safety along the Van Ness Avenue corridor, other project goals include enhancing the urban design and strengthening the identity of Van Ness Avenue. Tree selection for the corridor is a crucial part of the project design and a major component of the street’s identity.
At our Tree Selection Open House, community members will have a chance to learn about the tree selection process for the project, see which tree species were evaluated and selected, and get the latest information about the Van Ness BRT project.
Join staff at any time during the open house to ask questions and discuss the project. Learn more about the Van Ness BRT project online. If you are unable to attend the Open House, or would like to provide comments online, please email us at VanNessBRT@sfmta.com.
