Meet the Expert: Achieving safety on San Francisco Streets with Vision Zero

Share this:
Nov 6

Everyone in San Francisco deserves to feel safe on city streets. Every year in San Francisco, about 30 people lose their lives and over 500 more are severely injured while traveling on city streets. These deaths and injuries are unacceptable and preventable, and San Francisco is committed to stopping further loss of live. That’s why our transportation agency joined city leaders in 2014 to adopt a policy called Vision Zero, with the goal of eliminating all traffic deaths in San Francisco.

The Vision Zero Action Strategy outlines the initiatives and actions Vision Zero San Francisco will take to advance Vision Zero. Join us and expert John Knox-White, Manager for Urban Planning Initiatives at SFMTA, who will talk about the Vision Zero outreach work that has been done and provide general information about the program.

Meet the Expert is an informal speaker series where presenters provide their expertise on a variety of Van Ness-related topics, from construction to Muni service to history. This is your chance to join the conversation, ask questions or just listen. Find out more at SFMTA.com/VanNess.

Each event is free to attend, but attendees are encouraged to patronize the businesses where the event is held to provide the business support during construction. Please come ready to try something from the venue's menu. This month, you can check out the menu for Mel's Kitchen.

Space is limited, so RSVP  today!
