A collaboration between the SFMTA Photo Archive and the San Francisco History Center, this exhibit explores the 150 year history of our beloved cable cars.  From a technological innovation to an icon synonymous with San Francisco, our cable car system remains as the only manually operated street cable railway system in the world.
