The Van Ness Improvement Project will go before the Historic Preservation Commission to determine whether the proposed project designs are compatible with the Civic Center Landmark District. This will include reviewing a shelter design for the McAllister Street boarding platforms and a long-term treatment plan for four of the existing trolley/light poles in the Civic Center Historic District requested by the Historic Preservation Commission on November 18, 2015.
Also at this hearing, staff will provide an informational presentation to Commissioners on an alternate design option for trolley/light poles along Van Ness. This work is being done in response to a resolution passed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on September 20, 2016.
Anyone interested in making public comment on either item is encouraged to attend the hearing.
An agenda will be made available one week prior to the hearing on the Historic Preservation Commission website.
