19th Avenue Bike Stakeholder Ride and Input Session, November 1, 2014

Nov 1

As part of the 19th Avenue/M Ocean View project under consideration, the SFMTA is considering upgrading and adding new bicycle facilities within the Study area. These upgrades would better connect Southwest San Francisco to the major and growing network of bike facilities throughout the city and allow better, safer, and more direct access to major destinations including Parkmerced, San Francisco State University (SF State), and Stonestown Galleria. In coordination with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, the 19th Avenue/M Ocean View project team will lead a tour around the area, stopping at key areas to highlight bike facility design questions and opportunities. The tour will end at SF State's J. Paul Leonard Library on Holloway just west of 19th Avenue, where participants will convene to seek input on opportunities for the project’s design to support better bike travel along 19th Avenue. The bike tour map and meeting place information can be found in the "Agenda" button above.

Bikes will not be provided on this tour- please bring your own. Meeting participants who wish to skip the bike ride portion are welcome to join us at the university library for the input session afterwards (Room 121). The input session is expected to begin around 3 p.m. but is dependent on when the bike tour ends. The bike tour will begin at 2 p.m. at the Daly City BART Station and continue north towards Winston Drive. Cyclists will meet on St. Charles Avenue where the road bends (by the open-air BART parking lot ). Some refreshments will be provided for the input session, but please bring water for the bike tour. The tour will go at a slow pace. Please take typical biking precautions while riding.
