After an exciting holiday weekend, the city still has plenty to offer. Ready or not, here are some of the upcoming events for this weekend, including the King of the Streets Lowrider Cruise, Across the Bay 12k & 5k, and Giants baseball. Read more about our featured events below.
Giants Baseball Games
Friday through Sunday
AT&T Park
The Giants make a brief homestand with three games this weekend against the Miami Marlins. Saturday is Jeff Samardzija Shark Snow Globe night, where the first 20,000 fans through the gates will receive a unique themed snow globe.
Spend more time cheering for the Giants, and less time waiting in line, by purchasing your Muni fare in advance through the MuniMobile app.
How to Get There on Muni: The E Embarcadero, N Judah and T Third lines as well as the 10 Townsend, 30 Stockton, 45 Union/Stockton and 47 Van Ness routes will get you close to the ballpark. For more details on biking, taxis or parking during baseball season, visit our service alert press release.
Muni Service Note: Additional ballpark shuttle trains will be provided to assist fans with both pre- and post-game service. Patrons should expect minor service delays near the ballpark due to heavier pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Across the Bay 12K and 5K Races
Sunday, 7:30 a.m.
Marin County to Aquatic Park, via the Golden Gate Bridge
Arguably one of the most stunning running courses anywhere, the Across the Bay 12K will take runners from Fort Baker in Marin County south across the Golden Gate Bridge through the Presidio, past Chrissy Field east onto Marina Boulevard, then through Fort Mason towards the finish line at Aquatic Park. There will also be a 5K race into the Presidio, starting and ending at Aquatic Park.
How to Get There on Muni: The 22 Fillmore, 28 19th Avenue, 47 Van Ness, 49 Van Ness/Mission, 76X Marin Headlands Express routes and the Powell Hyde Cable Car Line will get you close to the race course.
Muni Service Note: The 28 will have a reroute.
Reminder: J Church Stop Changes at Balboa Park
Due to construction for the Balboa Park Station Area and Plaza Improvement Project, the J Church Line will continue to serve alternate stops on San Jose Avenue until the fall.
For details, please visit our Green Light Rail Center Track Replacement Project page.
Reminder: Van Ness Construction
All left turn lanes on Van Ness Avenue have been removed with the exceptions of those at Broadway (southbound), Lombard Street (northbound) and temporarily at Hayes Street (northbound).
Van Ness traffic lanes have been reduced from three to two on these segments:
- Northbound from Post to Filbert Street
- Southbound from Filbert to Washington Street
For complete details on these changes, please visit our Van Ness Improvement Project page.
