Italian Heritage Parade
Sunday, 12:30 p.m.
Fisherman’s Wharf and North Beach
The nation’s longest-running Italian Heritage Parade celebrates its 148th year. This year’s parade grand marshals are Bay Area natives: 1988 Olympic Men’s Figure Skating champion, Brian Boitano and the co-host of 107.7 The Bone’s “Lamont and Tonelli Show,” Paul Tonelli.
The parade begins at 12:30 pm at the foot of Jefferson and Stockton streets in Fisherman's Wharf, proceeds south through North Beach on Columbus Avenue, and ends in Washington Square in front of Saints Peter and Paul Church. Parade viewing will be available throughout the route.
Due to street closures and limited parking, parade watchers are encouraged to take public transportation. Muni service on the F Market, 8 Bayshore, 19 Polk, 30 Stockton, 47 Van Ness and Powell Hyde and Powell Mason Cable Car lines will get you there.
Muni service note: Due to street closures, there will be re-routes for the F Market, E Embarcadero, 8 Bayshore, 30 Stockton, 39 Coit, 45 Union/Stockton, and 47 Van Ness. Bus shuttles will provide service on the Powell and Powell Mason Cable Car lines from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
