This Weekend: Comedy and Union Street Music Festivals

This weekend's events have a little something for everyone. Check out the Colossal Clusterfest in Civic Center, head to the Union Street Music Festival, pig out at the Heritage BBQ tour in Dogpatch or enjoy the Statuto Race along the waterfront. More information on featured events below.

Union Street Music Festival

Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cow Hollow

With live musical performances representing five different genres, the Union Street Music Festival aims to bring a new twist to the usual Union Street Festival that happens each year. Along with the new emphasis on music, the event will include the elements that have made it a popular destination for years, such as arts and craft exhibits, beer and wine gardens, and food vendors.

How to Get There on Muni: The 22 Fillmore and 45 Union/Stockton routes.

Muni Service Note: The 45 will be rerouted and the 22 may be delayed.

Colossal Clusterfest

Friday through Sunday

U.N./Civic Center Plaza and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

Comedy fans have a full weekend of laughs ahead at the Colossal Clusterfest, a festival that will feature comedians, comedy-related attractions, music and plenty of food and drinks from local chefs and eateries.

How to Get There on Muni: The F Market & Wharves Line, 5 Fulton, 5R Fulton Rapid, 6 Haight/Parnassus, 7 Haight/Noriega, 9 San Bruno, 19 Polk, 47 Van Ness, 49 Van Ness/Mission routes, and any Muni Metro line to Van Ness or Civic Center stations.

Muni Service Note: The 19 will be rerouted. The 5, 5R and 21 may be delayed.

Reminder: J Church Stop Changes at Balboa Park

Due to construction for the Balboa Park Station Area and Plaza Improvement Project, the J Church Line will continue to serve alternate stops on San Jose Avenue until the fall.

Van Ness Construction Reminder

All left turn lanes on Van Ness Avenue have been removed with the exceptions of those at Broadway (southbound), Lombard Street (northbound) and temporarily at Hayes Street (northbound).

Van Ness traffic lanes have been reduced from three to two on these segments:

  • Northbound from Post to Filbert Street
  • Southbound from Filbert to Washington Street
