AIDS Walk
Sunday, 10:30 a.m.
Golden Gate Park
If you are looking to partake in a worthy endeavor, why not go for a walk in the park this Sunday? In the on-going fight to find a cure for AIDS/HIV, since 1987 AIDS Walk SF has raised $84 million. This money provides much needed funding to organizations, programs and services that are working hard to either eradicate the disease or providing assistance to those afflicted by it. This year’s 6.2 mile walk will start and end at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park. In addition to the walk, there will also be a Kids' Zone and a post-walk concert.
If you are planning on participating, consider using public transportation and help reduce traffic congestion. Muni service on the N Judah Line, 5 Fulton, 7 Haight/Noriega, 21 Hayes, 33 Ashbury/18th, 37 Corbett, 43 Masonic, and 44 O’Shaughnessy routes will take you to Golden Gate Park or close to it.
Muni service note: Muni service routes near the park may see minor delays due to an increase in ridership. There will be supplemental service on the 5 Fulton Route from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Fulton Street and Sixth Avenue and McAllister and Jones streets. The N Judah Line will have supplemental service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Judah Street and 19th Avenue and Embarcadero Station.
