We’re proud to announce a new civic partnership celebrating San Francisco Beer Week 2025 (Feb. 21 - March 2, 2025).

In collaboration with Standard Deviant Brewing and San Francisco City Football Club (SFCFC), the SFMTA has authorized the creation of "Hop on Muni," a limited-edition India Pale Ale that pays homage to the city's public transit heritage.

Join us on Friday, Feb. 21 to sip this new brew and take part in a Muni-themed beer crawl. Learn how to participate and why small businesses are at the heart of our partnership.

Behind the new brew: partnering to promote small businesses citywide

Muni and SFCFC are gearing up for a second sponsorship season. So, partnering with another city icon was a natural fit. By launching this unique partnership during SF Beer Week, we’re able to further support local small businesses. Together, we'll spotlight the places that make our city so special.

“This collaboration builds on our strong ties with Standard Deviant Brewing, where many employees are active club members. It's SF City's first venture beyond jersey partnerships, and we're excited to share this uniquely San Francisco creation with our community,” said Ian Blackley, SFCFC creative director.

Mark DeVito, Standard Deviant co-owner and chief operating officer, shared, "Muni is a timeless part of our community and a piece of San Francisco's heartbeat – classic yet ever-evolving. We took that spirit and created a beer that blends traditional West Coast IPA elements with modern hops, crafting something both familiar and new. The brewery has partnered with bars along four Muni lines that share these values of community and innovation to make this a true San Francisco Beer Week experience."

Muni connecting you to your communities

Every Muni route is a thread that weaves our communities together. Muni connects people to the places, events and experiences that define San Francisco. When Muni takes people to local breweries, soccer matches and neighborhood bars, it helps strengthen our entire community culturally and economically.

When you choose "Hop on Muni," you're not just getting a beer. You're supporting small businesses, sports clubs and public transit. Each one keeps San Francisco moving forward.

So next time you're out, skip the standard, deviate and ask for a "Hop on Muni." Because drinking local, supporting local and riding local? That's peak San Francisco.

Remember to drink responsibly and always plan your safe ride home. Muni's got you covered until late at night! You must be 21+ to participate in the Hop on Muni Beer Crawl and kick-off event.
