Segment B Update – April 22 - May 4, 2024

Infrastructure replacement work on sewer and water lines and rail installation has been substantially completed. Construction continues on boarding islands with accessible curb ramps, handrails, barriers and pavers. We have completed about 75% of the streetbase work to install a durable concrete foundation before final repaving begins next month.

Streetbase work is expected to continue until May 8. During this work, the block will be closed between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for cement pouring and curing on one side of the street at a time. Parking will be removed on both sides of the street and traffic detoured around the area. Area residents and merchants will receive notifications with details. We are working with the contractor to ensure that parking is released back to the public when work isn’t necessary for construction.

Starting May 6 two new construction phases will begin: curb-to-curb repaving along the entire corridor and the curve track replacement work at 46th Avenue.

General construction hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Construction schedules are subject to change. “No Parking” signs will be posted in construction and staging areas. Construction teams may be excavating and jackhammering pavement, which may cause vibrations. Dust control and housekeeping measures are in place at active construction and staging locations.

Construction work is scheduled to be performed – April 22 - May 4, 2024
