2009 Regular Season
The 49ers schedule is subject to change without notice. In particular, games in November or December may change their starting time shortly before game day. Candlestick Park 2009 bus schedulesSchedules will be posted when available. To the game:
When boarding routes 75X, 77X, 78X, and 79X, a round-trip football transfer is issued when you pay a cash fare. Hold on to this transfer for return service after the game. If you miss the last 77X or 79X express bus, take the 9-SAN BRUNO from Market Street, anywhere between Montgomery Station and 11th Street, to San Bruno and Bacon, where you can transfer to the 86-Candlestick Shuttle. Or take the T-THIRD to Gilman and Third, where you can transfer to the 87-Candlestick Shuttle. If you miss the last 78X, take the 29-SUNSET from 25th Avenue north of the park, or Sunset Blvd. south of the park, Stonestown (transfer from the 28-19TH AVENUE), Garfield/Grafton between Junipero Serra and Plymouth, or Geneva Avenue between Plymouth and Mission (including Balboa Park BART). The 29-SUNSET stops at Gilman Avenue & Bill Walsh Way (formerly Giants Drive), a short walk through the parking lot to the stadium. Candlestick Shuttle routes 86 and 87 operate continuously throughout the game. Leaving the stadiumIf you are leaving before the 4th Quarter, shuttle routes 86 and 87 run throughout the game. All four express routes (75X, 77X, 78X, 79X) and both shuttle routes (86, 87) run after the game. Buses normally begin return trips during the 4th Quarter or when there are significant numbers of customers waiting to leave. All express and shuttle service pick up on the loop on the west side of the stadium close to the drop-off point. Route numbers are posted. Show your round-trip football transfer to Muni personnel when boarding express vehicles. Service continues after the game until all waiting customers have been accommodated. 49er Express Bus Customers: Keep Your Football Transfer For Post-Game ServiceThe special-event fare paid to get to Candlestick Park for the game is good for a round trip. Please keep the football transfer issued upon boarding as proof of payment for your return trip. Without the Special-Event Ticket, you will have to pay the full special-event fare on Candlestick Express routes after the game. 86 Candlestick Shuttle stopsRoute 86 runs nonstop between Bacon & San Bruno and Candlestick Park. 87 Candlestick Shuttle stopsRoute 87 runs nonstop between Gilman & Third and Candlestick Park. Service from outside of San FranciscoFor transit service to the ballpark from other locations in the Bay Area, call 511. Bay Area transit information can also be found on the 511 Transit web site. The 49ers have also prepared a page of regional transit options (pdf). BART customers: BART-to-Muni discount coupons are not valid for special service to Candlestick Park.
Ferry customers: From the Ferry Building, walk 1/2 mile southwest, or take the Muni 21 or 31 route from Steuart and Market, out Market Street to Sutter & Sansome, where you catch the 79X Route to Candlestick Park. Caltrain customers: Take Caltrain to Millbrae Station, then take BART to Balboa Park Station, then catch the 75X Route or 78X Route on Geneva Avenue to Candlestick Park. Or, take Caltrain to Bayshore Station, walk north on Tunnel then east on Blanken to Arleta Station (about 0.3 miles). Ride the T Third north to Third & Gilman/Paul station, and transfer to the 87 Candlestick Shuttle Route to Candlestick Park. AC Transit customers: Take AC Transit to San Francisco's Transbay Terminal and walk to Sutter & Sansome Streets where you catch the 79X Route to Candlestick Park OR catch the Muni 5, 6 or 38 route at the terminal and transfer to the 79X Route at Market and Stockton/Fourth Streets. Golden Gate bus customers: Take Golden Gate Transit Geary routes to Van Ness & McAllister or Van Ness routes to Van Ness & Sutter, where you can catch the 77X Route to Candlestick Park. Or take north bay 49ers service. SamTrans customers: Transfer to BART or Caltrain, or take Silverado Stage's 49ers service. Accessibility: All Muni buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts. When express service isn't availableDuring times that express service is not running, you can still get to Candlestick Park: Take the 29 Sunset from 25th Avenue north of the park, or Sunset Boulevard south of the park, Stonestown (transfer from the 28 19th Avenue), Garfield/Grafton between Junipero Serra and Plymouth, or Geneva Avenue between Plymouth and Mission (including Balboa Park BART).
