Passengers board a Muni bus

SFMTA has various ways of informing the customers of service changes or special events. For temporary service changes due to construction and street events, we post customer alerts on the stop poles and on bus shelters. The signs normally tell why and when the service changes will occur. For the convenience of the customers, we also provide alternate service information as part of the customer alerts.

Alerts are also posted online at www.sfmta.com/alerts.

For a service change that lasts for some period of time, we will place take-ones, pocket size flyers with project information, on Muni vehicles for customers to pick up. The take-one boxes are located by the driver’s seat behind the fare box or on the sides of the vehicles. Posting car cards, posters mounted on the back panel of the driver’s seat, is another way of announcing important information to our customers.
