If you do not ride enough to need a monthly pass then the SFTMA has a better option for you. The Clipper START Program provides a 50% single ride discount. Discounts are available on MUNI and most all Bay Area transit providers.

New Applicants

Please select "New Lifeline Card" below and complete the application. Your Lifeline ID card will be mailed to you.

Replacement Cards

Please select "Replacement Lifeline Card" and complete the application. Your replacement Lifeline ID card will be mailed to you.
All Lifeline cards, regardless of expiration date printed on the card, are valid for travel.

Proof of Income

Upload one of the following proofs of income here.
  • Medi-Cal card 
  • SNAP or EBT card
  • Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program (screenshot of your phone app)
  • San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) Coordinated Entry eligibility letter

If your application is accepted, your last transit citation issued
within 30 days of enrollment is eligible for dismissal. Please provide a
citation or ID number from the citation so that we may review your
record.
